The skinny

N.C. State has won 15 straight season-openers. Tonight's game also will serve as the first game in the Glenn Wilkes Classic, which continues next week in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Wolfpack, 10-4 outside the ACC last season, has never played Georgia State, which went 12-20 in 2008-09.

Former N.C. State guard Marques Johnson is eligible to play for Georgia State after sitting out last season under transfer rules. The Panthers also feature guard Joe Dukes, a Wake Forest transfer, who led Georgia State in scoring (12.9 ppg) last season. There's one more familiar name on the Panthers' roster -- "Hansbro." Senior forward Xavier Hansbro had 25 points in their preseason win.
