RALEIGH -- A Raleigh teenager has been arrested on charges of taking a gun to Broughton High School on Thursday.
Raleigh Police Officer M.G. Sanker, the school resource officer at Broughton, was notified that four people were trespassing in the school's cafeteria around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Jim Sughrue, a police spokesman. He confronted the group and found they had an unloaded .22 caliber revolver and a butterfly knife in their possession, according to arrest records.
Charges for Luis Enrique Sanchez, 16, of 317-164 Schenley Drive in Raleigh, include carrying a concealed gun, having a gun on educational property and second-degree trespassing. He was being held at the Wake County jail, his bond set at $120,000.
