Observations

Duke senior guard Jon Scheyer has put together one of the most remarkable stat lines of this season for any player anywhere.

In 103 minutes, Scheyer has 14 assists and no turnovers. He also flashed some athletic ability on Tuesday night against Charlotte, soaring to block a shot on a play that led to a dunk by backcourt partner Nolan Smith on the other end.

Radford (2-0) has a couple of players who could be capable of banging with Duke's big lineup. Art Parakhouski (25.5 ppg, 15.0 rpg) and Joey Lynch-Flohr (21.0 ppg, 11.5 rpg) both have started the season with a pair of double-doubles in points and rebounds.

Freshman Blake Smith, a graduate of United Faith Academy in Charlotte, averages 13.5 points for the Highlanders.

Sophomore forward Miles Plumlee's scoring production has been a pleasant surprise so far for Duke (3-0). He has scored in double figures in all three games and posted a career-high 15 points against Charlotte.
