Not fabulous

Bridget has a smaller torso than lower body, and she's petite, so the crotch on most misses-size pants droops nearly to her knees. She has to roll the waistband on these stretch jeans, which adds inches to her waist. The jeans also create the ice-cream cone effect, making her waist look wider, and the sweater's vertical stripes amplify the effect. The sneakers are comfortable but don't add style.

Fabulously stylish

Bridget is ready for a party or some other dressy affair in this ensemble. A graduated haircut and golden color added shine to her silver locks. Skillful eyebrow shaping and subtle fall-palette makeup liven up her face and add polish. The metallic-gray, bracelet-sleeve cardigan, $21.99, creates a casual, suitlike vibe paired with the dove gray, wide-leg trousers, $15.99. The complementary colors and floral pattern in the boatneck, side-tied blouse, $17.99, pull the look together. Accessories finish the look: round-toe, dove gray patent wedges, $15.99; circle-pattern silver watch, $15.99; chain-mail bracelet, $5.99; metallic, alligator print tote, $9.99; spiral-wire rings with black stones, $4.99 each; and silver, chain-mail necklace, $7.99; Bridget's own earrings.

Fabulously sassy

It'll be easy to keep up with the grandkids in this modern, casual outfit. Straight leg, dark denim jeans, $19.99, in petite, low-rise styling fit short-waisted Bridget just right. Brown ankle boots, $24.99, elongate the leg line. The army green jacket with rolled sleeves and epaulets, $15.99, coordinates with the turquoise V-neck T-shirt, $8.99. The watch, rings and necklace return, combined with a brown, beaded cuff bracelet, $4.99.

Bridget's reaction: "Oh, I'm so excited, I don't know what to do. My husband is, too; he says he's taking me out to dinner tonight!" She had a ball being primped and pampered by the students at The Emerald Academy. She plans to buy several outfits, too.
