Oh, there is joy in Leftville today. They are finally getting all those things that our dumb President Bush would not give them. Thanks to President Obama, we are closing that dreadful concentration camp in Guantanamo. Unfortunately, we have not figured out what to do with its inmates. There are, however, plans to open a federal prison (read Country Club) in Illinois.

And now we are going to have a fair, visible, criminal trial, in New York, for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, confessed mastermind of 9/11. Ha! George W. Bush wanted a military tribunal; all the world could see what a hard-hearted president he really was. How is a tribunal supposed to make the whole world love us?

Hopefully, when we drag those brutal CIA guys to trial for their enhanced interrogation methods, the world will see what a truly hateful country the USA really was under George W.

In the meantime, we have that general in Afghanistan asking for more troops so that we can win that war. But Obama is taking his sweet time deciding how many, when and if he will even send any. He's not going to be rushed, even if he should get that 3 a.m. telephone call.

Paul Kretzschmar, Raleigh
