In response to your Nov. 14 article "The voters have spoken, and so has Clay Aiken": I'm disappointed to read of the pettiness that our newly elected school board members have adopted in response to Clay Aiken's comments. Our publicly elected - adult, mind you - public servants have chosen to spend their time mocking a minor celebrity, concocting what they think are crafty puns to mock his hit songs.

The difference between Aiken's juvenile comments and the board members' even more juvenile response is that the former are public servants! Thanks to board member Deborah Prickett for at least having a bit of decency and sense in dealing with the matter.

Tara Connolly,

Raleigh
