From staff reports

A memorial service will be held Saturday for a slain Granville County woman whose body was found last week after having been reported missing more than a year ago.

The service for Kelly Currin Morris will be held at 3 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 2047 Gate Number 2 Rd., in Butner. A savings fund has also been set up for her children.

Checks may be made payable to Pat Currin or Edwards Jones Investments, specifying the "Fund for Kelly's Kids." Checks may be mailed to Edwards Jones Investments, PO Box 806, Creedmoor, N.C. 27522.

Morris' remains were found just inside a fence at Tar River Fox Pen, a private hunting preserve outside Creedmoor.

Her husband, William Scott Morris, 35, of Creedmoor, was charged with first-degree murder on Nov. 17. Authorities say they think he killed his 28-year-old wife in September 2008.
