State Employees' Credit Union honored three member-volunteers for their service to the credit union. Grady Cooper of Raleigh, Charles Koonce of Fayetteville and William Locus of Goldsboro were presented Board Resolutions and highlighted in a tribute video, shown during the meeting attended by nearly 1,000 SECU members.

The Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society presented a distinguished volunteer award to Beth Rudisill, director of rehab hospital services at WakeMed, at the 2009 Annual Meeting in Raleigh. Rudisill was presented the Norman Cohn Hope award, the society's highest volunteer award given by a chapter.

BJAC has been named to the Zweig Letter 2009 Hot Firm List. The list recognizes the 200 fastest-growing firms as well as the top-growing firms by size and type of work. BJAC is an architectural design firm with offices in Raleigh and Charlotte. Christina Graham, construction administrator at BJAC, earned the Certified Construction Contract Administrator designation.

Carrie Christiano, a career management consultant with Right Management in Raleigh, has been certified a professional résumé writer by the Professional Association of Résumé Writers.

The National Tile Contractors Association has announced that David Allen Co. in Raleigh was inducted into the NTCA Five Star Program. Companies receiving this honor demonstrate a commitment to training, service, quality, superior job performance and safety.

Tammie Smoot of Move in Cary has completed the 48 hours of course work necessary to meet the requirements for the accredited associate designation, which identifies top professionals in the building industry.

FreemanWhite in Raleigh, an architectural, engineering, interior design and consulting services firm for healthcare organizations, has been named to Modern Healthcare Magazine's list of best places to work in health care.

The Raleigh office of Service Roofing & Sheet Metal received a safety award from the Carolinas Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Self-Insurers Fund for going three years injury-free.

Strategic Guru, a Cary marketing and communications agency, won two platinum awards in the 2009 MarCom Awards sponsored by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The company also earned an honorable mention for a personalized URL postcard for environmental consulting firm Piedmont Geologic.

CAI Communications, a branding, marketing, and employee communications firm in Raleigh, won five certificates of excellence in the 35th annual GDUSA American Graphic Design Awards.

Susan M. Hatchell, landscape architect and president of Susan Hatchell Landscape Architecture in Raleigh, has achieved LEED AP accreditation.

The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, in conjunction with its e-marketing partner E-site Marketing, received a Web Marketing Association WebAward for outstanding work in Web site development and e-campaigns.
