Player to watch: Golden Eagles sophomore guard Darius Johnson-Odom of Raleigh helped Wakefield High win the state title in 2006. The transfer from Hutchinson Community College scored 17 points Sunday in a 57-56 loss to Florida State.
Observations: The Golden Eagles beat Xavier and Michigan in the Old Spice Classic before falling to FSU in the championship game. ... This is the first true road game of the season for State and one of two outside the ACC. The Pack was 2-9 on the road last season.
