All kinds of civic groups, schools and other organizations raise money this time of year selling Christmas trees and wreaths.

Among the largest Christmas tree fundraisers in the Triangle is one put on by TROSA, Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, a long-term treatment program in Durham. Since it was founded in 1994, TROSA has helped more than 1,000 people return to sober lives through a combination of treatment, vocational training, education and continuing care.

TROSA is selling Christmas trees at four locations in Durham and one in Chapel Hill from 9a.m. to 10p.m. every day through Dec.24.

Find more information, including a list of tree and wreath sales locations and a $5 off coupon, go to the TROSA Christmas tree Web site at holidaysbytrosa.com .
