Regarding the Dec. 12 letter "Climate of fraud," from a legal and regulatory analyst for the John Locke Foundation: The writer thinks that committing drastic cuts in carbon dioxide emissions will devastate our economy. Wouldn't it be equally important to note the consequences in our economy if we do not curtail our emissions?

What will happen when our Outer Banks are under water? How about the effect on the economy when many areas in the Gulf are submerged? And, let's not forget New Orleans. It will certainly be lost! All this will happen when the oceans rise because of melting ice caps and thermal expansion.
