It's not clear whether leading scorer Matt Bouldin will be recovered enough from a head injury to play when No. 15 Gonzaga faces No. 7 Duke in New York's Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
Bouldin, who averages nearly 17 points per game, bumped heads with Augustana's Troy Rorer in the first half of their game on Dec. 9. He sat out the rest of that game and also the game against Davidson on Dec. 12, which the Zags (8-2) won 103-91

White leaving Minnesota: Prized recruit Royce White said he's leaving the Minnesota basketball team because of his legal troubles and the stress they are causing his family and the program.
White, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound forward, made the announcement in a video posted on YouTube.
White is currently indefinitely suspended from the team while police investigate the theft of a laptop computer from a dorm room in November. White says he's innocent.

Edwards wins Payton: Appalachian State's Armanti Edwards became the first winner of back-to-back Walter Payton Awards as the top player in the Football Championship Subdivision. Elon wide receiver Terrell Hudgins finished second in the voting.
Edwards, a 6-foot, 185-pound senior, is the first quarterback in NCAA history to pass for more than 10,000 yards and rush for more than 4,000. He finished his career with 10,392 yards passing and 4,361 rushing. His 14,753 yards of total offense ranks him second all-time.
Marshall picks Holliday: Longtime assistant coach John "Doc" Holliday, most recently the associate head coach at West Virginia, was introduced Thursday as the new head coach at Marshall. He replaces Mark Snyder, who resigned Nov. 29 after going 22-37 in five seasons.
ECU's Wilson honored: East Carolina senior C.J. Wilson was named Conference USA Defensive Most Valuable Player for the second straight year by The Sporting News, the publication announced.
Shaw's Smith honored: Shaw senior cornerback Quintez Smith was named to The Associated Press Little All-America Team, which consists of players from NCAA Division II and III and the NAIA. It was his third All-American honor this season.
Smith was the CIAA Defensive Player of the Year, tying for the Division II lead with nine interceptions, with four returned for touchdowns.
Women's golf
Blumenherst honored: Former Duke standout Amanda Blumenherst has been named one of eight 2010 NCAA Top VIII Award winners, which were announced Thursday. The winners will be recognized at the NCAA Convention in Atlanta on Jan. 15.
The Top VIII award recognizes current student-athletes who have completed their eligibility for their success athletically and in the classroom and the community.
