WASHINGTON -- Monica McNutt's putback with 13.7 seconds left gave Georgetown a 67-66 women's basketball victory over N.C. State on Tuesday night.
Brittany Strachan nearly capped off the best game of her career at N.C. State (7-5) with a short jumper from the baseline, but it went off the back iron as time expired in McDonough Arena.
The Hoyas took their ninth-straight win.
Strachan scored a career-best 18 points for the Wolfpack, which led 66-61 after Emili Tasler, who had 10 points, made a steal and a layup with 1:51 to play.
Georgetown's Sugar Rodgers, who had 19 points, missed three straight free throws down the stretch, but McNutt grabbed the offensive rebound and floated in a jumper for the winner.
N.C. State's season-high 30 turnovers helped produce 27 Georgetown points and keep the Hoyas in the game.
The Wolfpack countered with strong 3-point shooting, hitting 11 of 20 attempts.
Georgetown started the second half with 10 straight points that erased the Pack's seven-point halftime lead. Eight Pack turnovers in the first six minutes helped the Hoyas grab a 42-41 lead.
