Tir Na Nog feast

Every other Wednesday, Raleigh's Tir Na Nog offers a gourmet twist in a simple food favorite. The next such feast featuring biscuits will be this Wednesday.

The menu includes fried oysters, crispy collards and a spicy rémoulade sauce on a biscuit, a Raleigh cheese steak biscuit that features pulled pork, caramelized onions, pepper jack cheese sauce and pickled okra and a braised lamb shank biscuit with horseradish sauce and a mint and arugula salad.

The restaurant is at 218 S. Blount St. Call 833-7795 for a reservation.

Wedding cake deals

Chapel Hill's Sugarland bakery is offering a winter wedding cake special.

For cakes for 2010 weddings within 50 miles from the bakery, you can order a three-tiered cake to feed 80 people for $159 or a three-tiered cake to feed 100 for $199. Orders must be placed by Dec. 31.
