Senior guard Farnold Degand started the second half in place of C.J. Williams, and after his production on Wednesday, it looks like it could be a permanent move. Degand scored 12 points with nine assists, four rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes. Since missing the first six games of the season under academic suspension, he has provided invaluable ball-handling and outside shooting. He's 7-of-13 from 3-point range in the past four games.
With 54 points in the second half on Wednesday, N.C. State continues a season-long trend of producing more in the second 20 minutes than the first. On the season, State has scored 469 points in the first half and 570 in the second.
Head official Mike Kitts subtly stopped the game with 36.4 seconds left to untie and tie his shoe. He did it so little-used State reserve Kendall Smith could get on the floor.
