Wreck leaves Raleigh woman critically injured

From staff reportsJanuary 17, 2010

— A Raleigh woman was critically injured after her car crossed into oncoming traffic on Glenwood Avenue and collided with another vehicle on Saturday morning.

Robin Olivia Davis, 28, was traveling west on Glenwood between Lynn Road and Ebenezer Church Road at about 7:05 a.m. when she veered across the median and entered the eastbound lane, according to a Raleigh Police accident report.

Davis' 1999 Chrysler went airborne, began to roll and then struck a 2001 Ford truck driven by Stephen Thorpe Diller, 56, of Garner. Davis was partially ejected from her vehicle and taken to WakeMed, according to the police report.

Diller sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The accident report said Davis is suspected of being impaired at the time of the accident.

Glenwood Avenue’s eastbound lanes were closed for several hours Saturday morning because of the accident.
