Joshua Stewart's mom waited eight days and counting for placement for her autistic son.

She's a rarity, as most moms would have jumped ship a long time ago.

The mental health debacle in North Carolina has become a disaster of epic proportions. The state blatantly ignores those who cannot advocate for themselves.

This has to be seen as a moral issue in regard to the state's responsibility for its handicapped citizens. How in good conscience can the state allow this to continue?
