Player to watch: UNC's Dexter Strickland. The freshman replaced senior Marcus Ginyard at the starting shooting guard slot at Virginia Tech, and although he pulled down seven rebounds in the first half, he wasn't much of a factor after the break. The Tar Heels need his poise, and scoring ability, if they are going to start winning.
Observation: With snowfall wreaking havoc in the Maryland area, it is going to be interesting to see how many fans brave the elements to show up. The Terps usually boast one of the most vocal and hostile crowds in the ACC, especially when Carolina comes to town.
