TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Sophomore Luke Loucks came off the bench to score a career-high 19 points to lead Florida State to a 71-65 win over Miami on Saturday night.

Solomon Alabi's layup six minutes into the second half gave the Seminoles a 42-40 lead and they never trailed again, leading by as many as a dozen points at 59-47.

Florida State (17-6, 5-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) led 32-31 at the half on a Loucks' jumper that beat the buzzer. Loucks added five rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes of playing time.

Chris Singleton added 10 points for Florida State, which bounced back from a 71-67 home loss to Maryland on Thursday. The Seminoles desperately needed the win after losing their second conference home game.

James Dews led Miami (16-7, 2-7) with 15 points.
