Magic rallies past Celtics

Vince Carter led a 19-0 surge in the third quarter and finished with 20 points as the visiting Orlando Magic beat Boston 96-89 on Sunday, moving ahead of the Celtics and into second place in the Eastern Conference.

Carter scored nine points during a rally that began after Rajon Rondo's 3-pointer gave the Celtics a 60-51 lead with 7:17 left in the third quarter - Boston's fourth and final field goal of the period.

The Magic turned a 51-40 halftime deficit into a 76-62 lead after the third and stayed in front by at least five points the rest of the way.

Dwight Howard had 16 points and 13 rebounds for Orlando.

Rondo scored 17 points, and Ray Allen added 13 for the Celtics.

Also Sunday

Raptors 115, Kings 104: Chris Bosh had 36 points and 11 rebounds, Andrea Bargnani scored 22 points, and host Toronto extended Sacramento's losing streak to six games.

Hedo Turkoglu and Antoine Wright each added 16 points as Toronto topped 100 points for the 16th consecutive game and won its seventh straight at home.

Kevin Martin scored 24 points, and Spencer Hawes had 14 for the Kings, who have won just three of their past 20 and are 3-22 on the road.

Late Saturday

Jazz 116, Nuggets 106: Andrei Kirilenko scored 22 points, and Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 13 rebounds in his return to the lineup as host Utah earned its eighth straight victory.

Denver was without its top two players, Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, for the second straight visit to Utah. Both were out with sprained ankles.

Ty Lawson led Denver with 25 points.

Bulls 95, Heat 91: Luol Deng scored 25 points, Derrick Rose added 24 and host Chicago snapped a three-game losing streak.

Jermaine O'Neal tied season highs with 24 points and 16 rebounds, and Dwyane Wade added 20 points, but the Heat lost for the seventh time in eight games.

Timberwolves 109, Grizzlies 102: Al Jefferson rallied host Minnesota to its season-high fourth straight victory by scoring 16 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter.

Rudy Gay finished with 27 points and eight rebounds for the Grizzlies.

76ers 102, Rockets 95: Reserve Thaddeus Young scored 17 points, Willie Green added 15, and visiting Philadelphia overcame a 13-point deficit to earn its fourth straight victory.

The 76ers hadn't won four in a row since March 11-17, 2009.

Bucks 93, Pacers 81: Andrew Bogut scored 21 points and Luc Mbah a Moute had 18 to lead host Milwaukee over Indiana.

Lakers 99, Trail Blazers 82: Lamar Odom replaced injured Kobe Bryant, out with a sore left ankle, by scoring 10 points and matching his career high with 22 rebounds, and Los Angeles broke its nine-game losing streak at Portland.

Spurs 98, Clippers 81: George Hill scored all of his 22 points in the first three quarters as visiting San Antonio breezed to victory.

Thunder 104, Warriors 95: Kevin Durant scored 29 points, Russell Westbrook added 21 and visiting Oklahoma City won its fifth straight.
