The Baseball Hall of Fame will hold a second annual Hall of Fame Classic on Father's Day this year.

Hall president Jeff Idelson says tickets for the June 20 old-timer's game at Doubleday Field will go on sale in Cooperstown on March 20.

The Hall began a Father's Day weekend this past June, with five Hall of Famers and more than 20 other former major leaguers making the trip. The game replaced the annual exhibition between major league teams, which was discontinued because it had become too difficult to fit into the regular-season schedule.

The Hall said Monday that this year's seven-inning exhibition game will feature seven Hall of Famers: Rollie Fingers, Goose Gossage, Bob Feller, Phil Niekro, Gary Carter, Harmon Killebrew and Mike Schmidt.

Yankees add Thames, finalize Winn: Marcus Thames agreed Monday to a minor league contract with the New York Yankees, who also finalized a $1.1 million, one-year deal with Randy Winn to give themselves more left field options.

Speedy Brett Gardner also is in the mix for outfield playing time.

Brewers to put up statue of Selig: The Brewers are erecting a statue of baseball commissioner Bud Selig outside Miller Park and will unveil it on Aug. 24.

RailHawks release schedule

The Carolina RailHawks kick off their fourth soccer season with two home matches at WakeMed Soccer Park against AC St. Louis on April 10 and NSC Minnesota on April 16.

The USSF Division 2 schedule, released Monday, features 30 matches with each team playing 15 at home and 15 away.

The RailHawks will play the bulk of their games on weekends - 21 matches, 11 at WakeMed Soccer Park - leaving nine mid-week dates, four at home.

RailHawks defender Tolleson retires: Carolina RailHawks defender Jeremy Tolleson has retired from professional soccer in order to pursue mission work in Honduras.

Tolleson, 27, played three standout seasons of professional soccer, all three of them under RailHawks coach Martin Rennie.

Tolleson played only one season with Carolina, in 2009, but he played for Rennie in Oregon in the PDL and in Cleveland in USL-2. He played on a RailHawks defense that finished the year with a league-leading 17 shutouts and a 0.63 goals-against average.

Tolleson appeared in 31 matches for the RailHawks, logging 2,721 minutes and one assist. He was voted by his teammates as the RailHawks Defensive Player of the Year.

Tommy Robredo also advanced to the second round with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory over Dutch player Robin Haase.

America's Cup opener postponed: The opening race of the 33rd America's Cup between two-time defending champion Alinghi of Switzerland and American challenger BMW Oracle Racing has been postponed because of unsteady wind.
