RALEIGH -- The body of a Wake County man reported missing in January was found Monday morning.
Gerald Lee Mitchell Jr., 57, was discovered by deputies off U.S. 401 near Old Stage Road. While there appears to be no foul play involved, police have sent his body to the medical examiner's office to determine how he died.
Mitchell suffered from a cognitive impairment, and his family had not heard from him since Jan. 19.
