GREENSBORO -- Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie has been named the 2010 ACC women's basketball coach of the year.

It's McCallie's first ACC coach of the year honor. In her third season with the Blue Devils, McCallie has guided her team to 24-5 overall record and the top seed in this week's ACC Tournament in Greensboro.

The Devils finished with a 12-2 conference record and shared the regular-season conference championship with Florida State. It was their first regular-season title since 2007.

"It is an honor to receive this award on behalf of an amazing team and staff," McCallie said.

McCallie becomes the first coach in NCAA history to win coach of the year honors in four different conferences.

She was named coach of the year in the North Atlantic (1995, 1996), America East (1999) and Big Ten (2005) conferences.

Virginia's Monica Wright was named as the conference's player of the year on Thursday.
