From staff reports

RALEIGH -- Wake County community groups want to increase people counted in the 2010 Census, and they are inviting area pastors to help spread the word.

At a news conference to be held Thursday in Raleigh, pastors are invited to hear how they can spread news of the count from their pulpits. They will be named "census ambassadors" and encouraged to keep census information in their churches and sermons.

The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church at 101 S. Wilmington St. downtown.
