DURHAM -- State troopers have named the man they think was driving a Chevrolet TrailBlazer involved in a hit-and-run accident that left two men dead early Saturday.
Troopers issued an arrest warrant for Tanilo Rosales-Figueroa of 1304 Mockingbird Lane in Durham. Following an anonymous tip, troopers found the TrailBlazer at the home Sunday evening.
Rosales-Figueroa has been charged with felonious hit and run resulting in serious injury and/or death but had not been arrested as of late Wednesday.
Timothy Parrish Jr., 24, and Keith Mitchell Durham, 37, were killed when their Ford Taurus wagon was struck from behind by the TrailBlazer, said Sgt. Jeff D. Gordon of the state Highway Patrol.
Both vehicles were eastbound when the accident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 70 near Pleasant Drive. Once the Ford was struck, it ran off the right shoulder and crashed into the woods.
"Some of the witnesses said these two vehicles looked to be in some type of speed competition," Gordon said.
The Highway Patrol asks anyone with information about the wreck or Rosales-Figueroa to call its Durham office at 560-6868.
