Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers is well known as a founding member of the Irish traditional music group Cherish the Ladies. Her new project, the Beyond the Bog road tour, is a celebration of the Irish influence on the varied forms of American culture.

"This was one of the richest cross-fertilizations of folk music styles anywhere," Ivers said in a statement promoting the concert. "And it's still bearing fruit."

She has chosen to spend St. Patrick's Day in Chapel Hill, when she'll perform at UNC's Memorial Hall in a multimedia concert of music, story, dance and video. The Bog tour is taking Ivers and an ensemble of 13 musicians and dancers to Virginia, Georgia, Florida, New Hampshire and Utah, as well.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Wednesday show range from $30 to $70 and are available by calling 843-3333.
