CHAPEL HILL -- Chay Shegog tied a career high with 17 points to lead five Tar Heels in double figures as the North Carolina women's basketball team closed its regular-season schedule with an 88-66 win over N.C. Central on Sunday at Carmichael Arena.
Laura Broomfield added 12 points and 14 rebounds for UNC, which will now await its postseason fate after finishing the regular season with a 19-11 record.
Every healthy player scored for the Tar Heels, as Cetera DeGraffenreid, Italee Lucas and Trinity Bursey joined Shegog and Broomfield as double-digit scorers. DeGraffenreid finished with 11 points and five rebounds, while Lucas and Bursey each had 10.
Carolina shot 48.7 percent for the game, including a sizzling 19-of-37 in the second half. Shegog was accurate throughout the day, finishing 8-of-12 from the field to go with six boards, two assists and two steals in 26 minutes.
Joanna Miller led the Eagles (11-18) with 21 points.
