CARY -- An 11-year-old Cary boy is expected to recover after being struck by a car Wednesday.
It happened about 5 p.m. outside a home in the Preston Village subdivision, town officials said.
Cary Police Sgt. Steve Wilkins said the boy was riding his bicycle on Conagra Court when he was struck by a Honda CRV. He declined to identify the boy.
Wilkins said the collision occurred as the driver, who lives near the accident site, attempted to avoid the boy and several other children riding their bicycles in a cul-de-sac.
The child, who lives on nearbyCircle on the Green, was taken to a hospital in Apex with minor injuries.
"It just skinned him up a little bit," Wilkins said. "He'll be fine."
He said police would not charge the driver.
