Bragg soldier killed in Iraq

An Army soldier based at Fort Bragg was killed in Iraq on Saturday, the Defense Department announced Wednesday.

Spc. Steven J. Bishop of Christiansburg, Va., was killed in Tikrit. The Defense Department said he died while supporting combat operations, but did not provide details.

Bishop, 29, was assigned to the 422nd Civil Affairs Battalion, 352nd Civil Affairs Command of the Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command.
