Did the irony of the picture on Page 3B in the March 17 N&O not jump off the page? Everyone in the picture rallying against the health care bill appeared to be of the age to receive Medicare, just as I am. I feel sure they must know that it is given to seniors by the federal government and that it is an entitlement program.

I, too, am very satisfied with my health care coverage, as are many others. But where is the compassion for the less fortunate? Folks, take a deep breath and put yourself in others' shoes. And, please, federal government, "don't take your hands off my health care."

Joan M. Callaway, Fuquay-Varina
