You learn such interesting things by reading The N&O. On Saturday, I learned that dental coverage was included in the health care reform bill currently being debated by Congress. Funny, I worked for federal and state government for more than 40 years and have never had dental insurance. Looks like those being subsidized by taxpayers are going to get better coverage than those who have worked since John F. Kennedy issued his challenge in the early '60s.

I've asked three questions of my congressman and senators:

1. What is "reasonable"?

2. What will this insurance cover? Insurance is worth nothing if the copays and deductibles exceed the cost of service.

3. How much extra tax will I be paying?

To date, I have received no response to those questions.
