My wife and I are senior citizens receiving Social Security and Medicare benefits, so obviously we would not benefit from the proposed health care reform; however, we are convinced it is the right thing to do for our country.

We were anti-segregation Freedom Marchers in the early '60s. Being white and already equal, we did not benefit as individuals from the Civil Rights Act, but we felt that it, too, was the right thing to do for our country.

We ask that our fellow citizens, senators and congressional representatives help us support and vote for health care reform.
