How I got the picture

Earlier in the afternoon, I covered the Duke University men's basketball team being honored at the Executive Mansion. I had learned through a friend that the governor would be meeting with the Girl Scouts afterward. I caught Gov. Bev Perdue at the conclusion of the Duke event and asked whether I could photograph her with the girls. She warmly agreed.
