Wayne D. Fryar

Wayne Deuell Fryar, 71, of 516 Kenway Street, a retired employee of the Department of Corrections, died Tuesday.

A native of Sampson Co., he was the son of the late Evelyn Blanton and Vance Fryar of Clinton. He loved his family, friends, music and fishing.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Bryan-Lee Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends 12:00 to 2:00 Saturday prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Clayton.

Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Faye Edwards; daughter, Arliss Fryar Ferrell and her husband, Mel of Zebulon; son, Alan Fryar and his wife, Emily of Wadsworth, OH; sister, Joan Justice of Clinton; special sister-in-law, Wanda Edwards of the home; grandchildren, Amber and Crystal Ferrell of Zebulon and Morgan and Colin Fryar of Ohio.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Wake Co. and the staff of Duke Raleigh Hospital for their care and compassion during his illness.
