HILLSBOROUGH -- An Orange County grand jury has indicted Theodore James Walker on charges of second-degree kidnapping, assault on a female, and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury after police say heattacked a teenage jogger May 12 in downtown Chapel Hill.

Brothers Joey and Freddie Shelton were driving by, stopped their car and thwarted the abduction. Joey Shelton was pinned by Walker's car and landed on the hood when Walker tried to flee.

Walker is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail in the Orange County jail.

Meanwhile, a fund at RBC Bank has received enough money to pay for Joey Shelton's medical bills, branch manager Roger Badrock said Tuesday. Shelton suffered back injuries and does not have insurance.
