Mr. Robert Edward Lasater “Ted†Barnes, died on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. Ted was born in Winston-Salem on March 20, 1928, the son of John Thomas and Mary Lybrook Lasater Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jack, and his sister, Penny.
Ted was a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was an avid golfer and lover of music and books.
Ted is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Folger Chatham. He was blessed with two daughters, Mary Lybrook “Brook†Barnes Foltz and Dorothea Fredrica “Ricky†Barnes Boyles; one son-in-law, Stephen Carroll Foltz; four grandchildren, Hardin Lasater Foltz, Katherine Carroll Foltz, Elizabeth Brandeles Boyles, Barbara Preston Boyles; one great-grandchild, Aaleyah Marie; and a wonderful circle of loving and devoted family and friends.
