RALEIGH — A minor concealed weapons charge got a lot worse for a Raleigh man after he was taken to jail Sunday.
Raleigh police charged Tyrus Lamont Thompson, 22, of 1014 Coleman St., with carrying a concealed gun, a .380 caliber pistol manufactured by Cobra. The charge was a misdemeanor and Thompson was booked into the Wake County Jail and held in lieu of a $500 bond.
Things got worse for Thompson. Jail officers found the magazine for the pistol inside Thompsons rectum. The magazine had two bullets in it, and authorities then charged him with possession of a weapon by a prisoner. That charge is a felony and he was being held on a $10,000 bond.
