A Cary man was jailed Sunday on a child molestation charge.
Pedro Ventura Chavez, 33, of 304 Middleton Ave. was charged with taking indecent liberties with a child, a felony.
He is being held at Wake County jail and is expected to appear in court today.
The Department of Homeland Security put an immigration detainer on Chavez, who is from El Salvador, while it investigates whether he is in the U.S. illegally.
