A Newton Grove man was arrested Tuesday night after police said he broke into a home near Apex, held its occupant at gunpoint and struck him over the head with the gun.
Ronnie Lee Daughtry, 26, of 1635 Easy St., is charged with one count of first-degree burglary, one count of second-degree kidnapping, one count of conspiring to break and enter, one count of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of assault by pointing a gun, according to arrest warrants filed with the Wake County Magistrate's Office.
Daughtry is accused of breaking into Andrew Dixon's home in the 8400 block of Bells Lake Road between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday, the warrants state.
Daughtry is being held in the Wake County jail on $205,000 bond.
