A Chapel Hill man died Thursday when his car overturned near Silk Hope in Chatham County, according to the state Highway Patrol.

William David Mote, 21, was killed just after 10 a.m. when he lost control of his car while traveling east on Epps Clark Road, the patrol said.

Mote's car ran off the right side of the road, crossed over to the left side of the road, struck a fence and overturned, the patrol said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
