Mary Floyd Harrelson, 83, formerly of Robinwood, died Sunday.
A native of Fair Bluff she was daughter to the late Lottie Lamon and Chellie Ivey Floyd. She was a faithful servant of the Lord who while living in Goldsboro was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church and was later a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a much beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Harrelson was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Scarboro, brothers, James Edward, Albert and Sam Floyd, and sister, Lena Mae Frink.
She is survived by her son, William "Gene" Harrelson (Wanda) of Raleigh; son-in-law, Alex Scarboro (Betty) of Clayton; brother, L.C. Floyd of Garner; sisters, Jenell Floyd of Chadbourn, Ida Jane Stewart of Thomasville; grandchildren, Tyler Harrelson, Chris Scarboro (Jessica) and Jennifer Scarboro Johnson (Jeremy); seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Poole Rd., with visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Bethlehem Baptist Church Keenage Club or to Heartland Hospice.
