RALEIGH -- A Raleigh man was killed after he crashed his motorcycle on Lynn Road on Thursday night.

Richard Eddie Marcom, 59, of 7921 Broad St. was driving his custom 2004 motorcycle west on Lynn near Lead Mine Road about 8:50 p.m. when he lost control in a curve, an accident report from the Raleigh Police Department said.

Police estimate that Marcom was traveling about 85 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the report. He ran off the right side of the road, hit the curb and collided with a utility pole.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
