Regarding Barry Saunders' July 29 column "Abuse isn't just beastly": One thing that can be done to cut down on child abuse is to change our way-too-easy divorce laws, toughen them up and make divorce harder to obtain. The records show that stepfathers and moms' boyfriends are more likely to administer abuse than is a child's biological father.
