Wake school board Chairman Ron Margiotta speculated that board member Keith Sutton "wanted" to be arrested at the July 20 circus of a school board meeting and that the NAACP is more interested in making itself relevant than in what is good for the children of Wake County.

Because most of us regularly operate from mixed motives at best, it is particularly ironic to hear Margiotta accuse others of less than upfront motives. Clearly, both he and the rest of the board majority have many motives beyond being committed to providing a quality education for the students in Wake County - which is their job! Margiotta's comments are both disappointing and disheartening.
