DURHAM -- Police are looking for a man who allegedly caught a ride from a good Samaritan before robbing him.
Kammie Michael, a spokeswoman for the department, confirmed the victim stopped for James Francis Washington, 23, who was seeking a ride to the hospital on July 13. During the drive, Washington allegedly produced a firearm and took an unspecified amount of money from the victim. He then ran from the car somewhere near Swift Avenue and the Durham Freeway.
Durham police are charging Washington with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and assault by pointing a gun.
