Pots and kettles

As I watch the Wake County school board protests as well as the tea party rallies, I find myself puzzled by the messaging of both events.

I watched a supporter of the current school board state, "They were elected by the people of Wake County, and we should support their efforts to bring about change." Hmm. Some of the faces we see supporting the new school board, including that of John Tedesco's, are also the faces we see at the tea party rallies fighting the change inspired by President Obama when he was elected by the people in 2008.

I am certain there are those on the right who would say the same about Rev. William Barber and others protesting the school board's actions.

We are lucky to be Americans with the right to free speech, assembly, protest, bear arms and the greatest right of all: the right to vote.

We even have the right to be a hypocrite.
