Shaq races Dale Jr.

Shaquille O'Neal will go head-to-head on the racetrack tonight against none other than NASCAR's Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The battle is part of O'Neal's television series "Shaq Vs." in which the basketball star challenges other accomplished professional athletes to compete with him in their sport.

The ABC show returns for its second season at 9 tonight.

The race was taped in June at the Concord Speedway near Charlotte. It was open to the public, but the people there were asked not to reveal the outcome. Is it even possible that Shaq outraced Little E?

O'Neal has four NBA championship rings, and Earnhardt recently won the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona.

It'll be worth tuning in just to see O'Neal cram his 7-foot-1-inch, 325- pound frame into a stock car.

In the first season of "Shaq Vs.," O'Neal swam against Michael Phelps, played quarterback in a game against Ben Roethlisberger, slugged baseballs with Albert Pujols, played volleyball against Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, and boxed Oscar de la Hoya. He didn't win any of his matches.

This season O'Neal will branch out of the sporting arena as he takes on Rachael Ray and hot-dog-eating champ Joey Chestnut. There are also rumors about a dance-off against Justin Bieber.
