A Guilford County man was arrested today today on charges he embezzled nearly $70,000 from a Raleigh CarMax, according to arrest warrants filed in the Wake County Magistrate's Office.
Michael Patrick Cormack, 36, of 6605 Transom Court, Whitsett, was charged with two counts of embezzlement by Raleigh police. Cormack turned himself in to authorities this morning, magistrates said.
Cormack is accused of taking $69,970 while an employee at a CarMax store in Raleigh, the warrants state.
Raleigh police said in the warrants that the embezzlement occurred between May 2007 and last month.
Cormack is in custody in the Wake County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
