Section B, Page 2, below the fold? After all of the space and editorials that you have devoted to the issues surrounding the Wake County Public School System, I was surprised to see an article stating that Raleigh/Cary (Wake) schools had made a national No. 1 list on Page 2B below the fold. Regardless of one's side on the issues, this warranted better position than our being No. 1 in copperhead bites.
I worked as a recruiter of civil engineers for over 15 years. Schools were always on the top of the list of questions asked by any candidate considering relocation, and many of my candidates moved here because of our excellent school system. I was not as successful with searches for candidates required to relocate to other areas of the country where schools were in question.
This article should have had better placement, as the decisions that we make today will affect our success (or failure) tomorrow in both our economic growth and the success of our children.
