Sunday: A look at area football conferences, with numbers and analyses of the area's toughest teams.
Monday: Cross country.
Tuesday: Boys soccer; also the first High School Huddle of the season gets inside the heads of some of the area's top high school quarterbacks.
Wednesday: Girls tennis and girls golf.
Thursday: Volleyball.

Holly Springs seniors Jenna Firestein and Kristen Krebs knew Saturday’s contest against Fayetteville Jack Britt would be their final home game as members of the Golden Hawks softball team. -
Green Hope girls suffer heartbreak in soccer championship against Hough
Green Hope’s perfect season is snatched away by Charlotte Hough in the final 12 minutes of the state final at N.C. State’s Dail Soccer Field in a 2-1 finish. -
Richmond County baseball evens series with Middle Creek
It’ll be do-or-die for Middle Creek’s baseball team on Saturday night, but at least it’ll be in a comfortable location. The 4A East best-of-3 series will shift back to the Mustangs’ home after Richmond County came away with a 6-2 victory to even the series on Friday. -
Holly Springs falls to Fayetteville’s Britt
The Holly Springs Golden Hawks softball team has had an exciting past week of playing close games. On Friday, however, the Hawks fourth close game in a week ended in a 3-2 loss to Britt, as the Buccaneers rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score and then won in the eighth to even the series at one game apiece. -
Green Hope’s soccer goal is 4A girls title
The Green Hope High girls soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the country, but won’t reach its goal unless it beats Hough in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A championships on Saturday.

Dixon routs Voyager to force deciding game in 1A regional
There were no late-game heroics for Voyager Academy Friday night. The Bulldogs made sure there would be no Dixon comeback with a resounding 15-0 win, forcing a deciding game three Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Holly Ridge.
